Rome, Centro Astalli Il Faro 22012016

Last Peppertrio! We were good on time, well prepared, muscles stretched and noses red!

Last one in Rome also, Cartocci hometown, so his family were also present.

The audience was composed of different groups. There were refugees, asil seekers from different centers, there were some minor aged imigrants , 2 families with kids. The most of the kids from this organisation couldn’t come because they live in centers on the other side of the city and they finish school at 16.30u. And we played at 15.30u…

It was a little theatre with a very small stage..

The friend of Alessandro gave this contact about this center. And he told us, that most of the organisation that deal with kids don’t like to show the situation in the centers which is not always optimal , because they are scared to get a bad publicity about their organisation. This is maybe one of the main reason why it was so hard to get contacts with an audience where there are kids.

This whole experience of the last 2 weeks visiting centers and playing for this people was quite strong. We really opened our eyes in what kind of situation this people are. And we realise we are lucky to have grown up in a country where there is not so much poverty and war…

These people went away from their countries because it is too dangerous to stay, because of war, or because there is no work, because of poverty or diseases…

I cannot imagine myself to run away from the place I grew up, because it’s too dangerous to stay and the risk to die is high.

And it’s amazing how many people are in this situation, and just a minority is living the luxury we have. It was interesting to live together with them, share and hear their stories.

But most of all we are happy to have given them a good time playing our show and to see smiles on their faces. Thank you all the centers that were willing to welcome us, thank you clown sans frontiers to make this possible and thanks Peppertio for this amazing experience in Italy!
